Following roles as a clinical zoo veterinarian, university lecturer, civil servant and zoo director, Matt now runs Zoo and Wildlife Solutions Ltd. a consultancy providing zoo management, development and compliance services as well as being a zoo and animal welfare inspector. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at Nottingham Trent University.
Matt has worked on captive husbandry and welfare, disease management, social behaviour and reproduction in primates and is European Ex-situ Programme manager for De Brazza monkey. In addition, Matt manages conservation partnerships in Ghana, Madagascar and Paraguay that provide scholarships for post-graduate students to undertake field conservation
