About the Captive Care Grant
The Captive Care Sub-Committee (CCSC) administers the PSGB Captive Care Grants. These are awards, typically not exceeding £1,250, to assist research of benefit to primate welfare in captivity, and to assist education projects about captive primate welfare. Although the financial value of the grants is quite small, it should be remembered that approval from the PSGB is invaluable when applying for money from other sources.
Candidates should not apply to more than one sub-committee for funds for the same project or in any one year, but decide which best represents their chosen research topic. For further clarification please see the Guidance Notes and if unsure contact the relevant Convenor for advice prior to submitting a proposal.
Applying for funds
PSGB Grants are open to PSGB members and to primate range state nationals who are not members. Range state nationals who are successful with a grant application will be given free PSGB membership for the duration of their grant.
We have introduced two funding rounds to all our grants as of 2023. The 2024 deadlines are March 1st and November 1st. The next deadline is 1st November 2024.
All applications should be written in English. The application form, guidance notes and other relevant documents are available below. Applicants should ensure that their grant application is complete and with the Convenor by the deadline. Incomplete or late applications (including references and supporting statements) will not be considered.
All applications (and references) should be submitted via email to the Convenor of the Captive Care Subcommittee at [email protected].
